In Germany there are about 130 trades you can train for. As a tradesman or tradeswoman you will ensure that many things in everyday life work properly – from cars to false teeth.
Why should you learn a trade?
Because the trades are looking for new generation of committed tradesmen and tradeswomen and offer secure employment. The trades in Germany use a dual system of training – this means that the apprentice is trained in a company and also in a technical college. Whether in the workshop or on the construction site: In the trades men and women have the opportunity to tackle challenges and use their knowledge. For the duration of your training you will receive an allowance, corresponding to the trade and training duration (2, 3 or 3,5 years).
Requirements:
- valid residence permit
- knowledge of the German language (Level B1 at least)
- motivation, commitment & readiness to tackle challenges
We recommend attending a project that will allow a skill assessment to be done, an internship and an access qualification supported by the employment agency.
